The National AI Innovation Challenge 2026 is a national-level mini hackathon designed to encourage students to develop AI-based solutions for real municipal and civic challenges.
Rapid urbanization has created complex problems in traffic management, waste handling, water systems, public safety, and governance. Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Data Analytics provide powerful tools to solve these issues efficiently.
This event aims to bring together innovative student teams to design scalable AI solutions that can support smart city development and digital governance initiatives.
Team Composition
- Participation allowed only in teams
- Team Size: 4 Members per Team
- All participants must belong to a recognized college or university
- Team composition cannot be changed after registration
Hackathon Structure
Phase 1 – Problem Orientation
- Introduction to municipal challenges
- Dataset briefing
- Faculty technical sessions
Phase 2 – Development Phase
- Team-based AI solution development
- Faculty mentoring support
- Focus on feasibility and scalability
Phase 3 – Final Presentation
- Prototype demonstration

Rules & Guidelines
- This is a mini hackathon focused on AI-based civic solutions
- Any unfair practice or plagiarism will lead to immediate disqualification
- Participants must follow all timelines and instructions
- All teams must bring their own laptops and accessories
- Jury and organizing committee decisions will be final
